Bei unseren Partnern Recover und Ferre werden alte Jeans in neues Garn verwandelt. Recover nimmt die alten Jeans entgegen, zerkleinert sie und mischt die recycelten Fasern mit Bio-Baumwolle. Diese gemischte Faser wird dann bei Ferre zu neuem Garn verarbeitet.

They work with brands and companies to collect fabric waste in order to recycle it into new yarns. Their yarns have scored highest in the Higg Material Sustainability Index, which means they are free from hazardous substances and exceed the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) and Reach compliance standards. Recover has reported to have saved in 2019 over 40 billion liters of water, 2.9 million kg of pollutants, 142 million kWh of energy.

When the jeans arrive to the factory the metals are cut out of the jeans. The fabric is then shredded until it resembles a bluish version of fresh cotton. Mechanical recycling shortens the filaments of recycled cotton, therefore in order to ensure the best quality, the fibre is mixed with virgin organic cotton. Lastly the fibres are spun into new yarn.

Wenn die Jeans in der Fabrik ankommen, werden die Metalle aus ihnen herausgeschnitten. Der Stoff wird dann geschreddert, bis er einer bläulichen Version frischer Baumwolle ähnelt. Durch das mechanische Recycling verkürzen sich die Fasern der recycelten Baumwolle. Um die beste Qualität zu gewährleisten, werden die Fasern daher mit neuer Bio-Baumwolle gemischt. Schließlich werden die Fasern zu neuem Garn versponnen.
