MUD Jeans X Davines
On the 8th of October we attended the Davines event, Hair On Stage Amsterdam 2017 in the magnificent Theater Amsterdam. The event was a unique showcase where rising talent and nominated artists showed their skills and work. Think on-stage hair performance and live trainings, the newest trends, products and creative techniques and a lot of fun.
MUD Jeans and Davines, both BCorps have a collaboration history, but nevertheless a small introduction on who they are, what they do and what their beliefs are. The Davines Group has been around since 1983. The group was founded in Parma, Italy by the Bollati Family and they produce professional cosmetic products for hairdressers. Davines feels very strongly about quality & craftsmanship. By creating sustainable beauty products they wish to encourage and inspire people to take care of themselves and the environment.
Since November 2016, Davines can call themselves a BCorporation. But what exactly is a BCorp again? BCorps are for-profit companies certified by the non profit organisation BLab, who meet specific standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The mantra is: ‘Using business as a force for good’. MUD Jeans has proudly been a certified BCorp since January 2015.
Following the aspiration, be the change you want to see in the world, Davines is passionate to collaborate with other BCorps in order to spread social and environmental awareness. In this light Davines and MUD Jeans collaborated on designing jeans aprons. These aprons will be worn by the hairdressers who are selling and using Davines products.
This crossover collaboration between two BCorps is a win-win for both parties. Davines can co-design customized aprons who are completely in line with their business philosophy and we at MUD Jeans can increase the visibility of our brand in new places. And so are both companies using business as a force to do good.
